Sole Proprietorship: A business owned and operated by one person. The owner is personally responsible for all debts and liabilities of the business.


Partnership: A business owned by two or more people who share profits and losses. Partners are personally responsible for the debts and liabilities of the business.


Limited Liability Partnership (LLP): A partnership where partners have limited liability for the debts and obligations of the business.


Corporation: A legal entity that is separate from its owners, who are not personally liable for the debts and obligations of the business. Corporations issue shares of stock to raise capital and are managed by a board of directors.


Limited Liability Company (LLC): A hybrid of a partnership and a corporation that offers limited liability to its owners while providing tax benefits of a partnership.


Cooperative: A business owned and operated by its members who share profits and decision-making responsibilities.


Nonprofit Organization: An organization that is not operated for profit and is dedicated to a charitable, educational, or social cause.


Franchise: A business model where an individual or group buys the rights to operate a business using the trademark, products, and services of an established company.


Joint Venture: A partnership between two or more businesses to carry out a specific project or business activity.
